A smart phone enhances productivity and enables new ways of conducting business beyond the confines of the office. Data once reserved for offices is now on a much smaller, mobile and convenient device.

    Smartphones, I agree, will make computing devices obsolete at some level. Still, for high-end usage such as editing video and music as well as for designing web based applications, websites, photography and other sophisticated usage desktops will always be required. They will definitely be transformed but those of us who create and design will always need some sort of powerful computer :)

    It is going to be very interesting to see which leads and which follows...Smarphones or netbooks. It's unfortunate the improved touchscreen viewing is ahead of the speed-capability for downloading media when you are outside of a Wi-Fi network. 3G just cannot keep up when we want faster loading and updating.
